Olive Picking Travel Shop - Welcome

Helping You To Plan Your Travel

BikesOnce you have chosen your olive picking holiday you will need to arrange your travel. This Travel Shop is designed to help you with your travel planning. You may want to add a few days city break to your olive picking trip, drive down to your chosen destination rather than fly, hire a car to explore the local area ... these choices are part of what makes an olive picking holiday so great and the links below are designed to help you.

Getting There ...

If you are travelling from the UK to Italy, Spain or France you have a choice as to whether to take the ferry and drive, or to fly.

Flights

Flying to your destination is for many people the easiest option. France, Italy and Spain are all well served by both scheduled airlines and by low cost no frills flights. One of the benefits of low cost carriers is their extensive use of local airports which significantly helps cut both the expense and time taken to travel.

Two companies which can help you plan your flights are Expedia and FlyBe.

FlyBe is one of Europe's largest and most successful regional airlines carrying over 7.5 million passengers per annum. It offers over 65 destinations across the UK and Europe and also works hard to be a 'greener' airline - its tag of 'low cost but not at any cost' reflects this commitment.

Hotels

One of the nicest things about an olive picking holiday is that you can combine it with a city break. Often this will fit well with your travel plans. For example if you are considering booking an olive picking holiday in Italy it is easy to arrive or depart from Rome and spend time exploring the city.

Expedia really needs no introduction: with 1000's of cheap flights, hotels, city breaks and more, this is the ideal start for planning both your hotels and flights. Enter your details for an instant view of what's available:

Car Rental

Hiring a car without doubt adds an extra dimension to your holiday allowing you to explore the local area and make your own discoveries. For most of our olive picking holidays a car is essential.

Holiday Autos are the largest leisure car rental company in the world with over 23 years experience. They provide fully inclusive prices with no hidden charges and offer competitive rates throughout the year. Holiday Autos monitor competitor prices daily to ensure they provide the lowest prices in all European 'low cost' flight destinations.

If you are planning to include olive picking as part of a bigger adventure how about hiring a great value motor home ...

Maps

Maps are really useful for helping you with your planning (even if you have Sat Nav!):

Trains

Trains, especially in Europe offer a great and inexpensive way to start and end your holiday. With no weight restrictions on your luggage this is also a very good way to bring home your carefully harvested olive oil.

The mist is rising from the valley as we walk down to the olive grove.  In the distance the sound of the church bells rings out.  We spread the nets around the tree - keeping them close to the trunk to make sure the olives don't fall through and get lost onto the ground below!
