OZU
A feast to celebrate the first oil of the season with '(probably) the best
Bruschetta in Italy'!

Experience:
OZU is located 55 km north of Rome in Sabina,
Lazio. This residential cultural centre has been set up to work with the local community. During
weekends in November (4-7 and 18-21) you are invited to join in the olive harvest. As well as helping
with the harvest the holiday includes the chance to visit Monteleone known for its ancient Roman sites and the
Turano lake.
There is a barbecue in the groves, a chance to make delicious pasta, a visit to the
Frantoio (mill) and half a litre of olive oil to take home.
Details:
Arrive on Friday for dinner and afterwards a presentation on how to pick olives.
Saturday will see you spending the morning helping with the harvest, then after a barbecue lunch you will visit the
mill. Sunday is your chance to visit the lake and after a picnic lunch to do some cooking and then taste local
produce (leave room for your evening meal!) Monday and there is time to visit Rieti for some shopping before lunch
and travel home. Accomodation is practical rather than luxurious!
Price:
This varies depending on your plans. You can stay in a dormitory for two nights for
€150 per person, or share a double room and stay from Friday to Monday for €250 per person. Single occupancy is
also available. These prices include all meals and transfers from/to Rome airport.
