Umbria: La Volpe e L'uva
Cooking lessons and a visit to the 'capital of olive oil' at
Trevi
Experience:
Who could resist a stay at 'La Volpe e L'Uva' which
translates as The Fox and the Grapes? Situated in Umbria the farmhouse is surrounded by 10 acres of olive groves, vinyards and fruit
trees. Only 4 km away is the historic town of Perugia - allowing you to both relax and
explore.
You stay in one of five apartments set round the
beautifully restored 17 century stone farmhouse. Raffaella the owner runs 'Let's Cook in Umbria' courses throughout
the year but between the 1-15 November she is offering the chance to join her in the Olive Harvest. Here you can
take part in hand picking olives as well as using the extra virgin olive oil in your cooking lessons that also form
part of the holiday. You get the chance to visit Trevi - known as the capital of olive oil and see olives being
pressed for their oil.
Details:
Taking place during the first fortnight in November the
Olive Harvest holiday is based over 4 days. Included in the price is your accommodation
(various options possible), breakfast, lunch (on 3 days which you will be preparing during hands-on cooking
lessons) and dinner on one night. There is a morning harvesting olives on the farm and also two half day
excusions with transport provided.
