Adopting an Olive Tree from Villa la Rogaia

Background

At Villa la Rogaia you can adopt a tree from their organic farm on the Umbrian/Tuscan border. In doing so you will be helping to preserve the ancient landscape of this region with its natural biodiversity (see also olive picking holidays at Villa la Rogaia).

Packages available range from adoption for a year to adoption for life.

Oil

The organic oil is hand picked and cold pressed, from the first pressing of the olives meaning that it is of the highest quality.

Price

Villa la Rogaia offers a wide range of adoption packages starting at verde (green) and progressing through bronzo (bronze) and argento (silver) to oro (gold). The prices range from €49 for adoption for a single year to €299 to adopt a tree for a whole life with a baby olive tree planted especially for you.

There is also the opportunity to participate in a unique art project enabling you place a specially sculpted and engraved stone pillar next to a 'whole life' tree. This extremely special opportunity is available for €999.

Notes

As a guide to what is provided in the different packages the Bronze adoption (€99) includes the following:

  • A beautifully designed certificate giving the exact location of your tree
  • A photograph of the tree itself
  • A registration in the La Rogaia olive tree adoption book
  • Two litres of extra virgin olive oil (shipping not included)
  • The chance to extend your adoption for a further year for €59.

The Silver package(€129) includes all the above plus a personalised label on your bottles of oil.

The unique Artenatura package includes a natural stone plinth created by the sculptor Wolfgang Sandt and engraved with the name of your choice. This will stand alongside your newly planted olive tree which will eventually rise above it and ultimately the sculpture will find shelter beneath its branches.

This is a beautiful memorial for a life beginning or ended or the coming together of two people to share a new life.

The mist is rising from the valley as we walk down to the olive grove.  In the distance the sound of the church bells rings out.  We spread the nets around the tree - keeping them close to the trunk to make sure the olives don't fall through and get lost onto the ground below!
