Adopting an Olive Tree from Greek Groves
Background
Greek Groves consists of a team of people passionate about
olive trees and oil. Their aim is to try and prevent the further destruction of beautiful ancient groves for
development.
To help protect the olives and encourage people to share in
the olive oil experience they offer two great destinations for you to adopt your olive tree from: Corfu and
Crete:
Crete
The olive grove here is located in the gorge of Rouvas - a
ravine at the base of Mount Psiloritis. A stream and a great taverna are both nearby, as is the E4 trekking route
which runs almost the length of Crete.
Corfu
Here in 'Esme's Grove' tall very old trees grow on the north
coast of the island near the village of Agrafi. These trees were saved from destruction by the adoption
scheme.
Price
£50 - your adopted tree comes with a personal certificate
with your tree information, plus a bottle of organic olive oil.
Notes
- You are very welcome to visit your trees - both
locations are set in timeless Greek landscapes.
- Buy adopting a tree you will also be offsetting carbon
emissions.
If you fancy a LOT of trees you can also buy your own
olive grove for as little as £5000!
