Adopting an Olive Tree from Casa del Sole

Background

You may remember watching Channel 4's TV series 'No Going Back', well now Richard and Sarah have 4 boys and yes they are still living in Tuscany.

Their farm is 100% organic and the olives (a range of varieties) harvested by hand.

Types of Tree

The trees grow in one of two groves each with a mixture of olive varieties including Piantone Di Mogliano, Pendolino and Leccino.

Oil

The organic oil is sent to you in December. The amount of oil you receive will depend on how good the harvest has been - anything between 250ml (guaranteed) to 1.5 litres. The bottle will be personalised with your chosen name.

Price

Casa del Sole offers 3 different types of package with the Standard 1 Year Package costing £60. You can also extend your adoption period to 3 or 5 years and receive a significant discount (up to 30%). With the standard package you get a customised T-shirt, an adoption certificate and your share of the olive oil harvest.

Notes

  • Your oil is shipped free.  
  • You will be sent a map showing the exact location of your tree  
  • A photograph of the tree itself  
  • You can name your tree - anything you like - this goes on the adoption certificate.  
  • You will receive one of their unique 'Olive Oil Baron' or 'Extra Virgin' T-shirts.  
  • Packages are available for children and also as wedding gifts.  
  • Money from the adoption scheme helps with the replanting of young olives trees conserving the countryside.

The mist is rising from the valley as we walk down to the olive grove.  In the distance the sound of the church bells rings out.  We spread the nets around the tree - keeping them close to the trunk to make sure the olives don't fall through and get lost onto the ground below!
